SHERIDAN — This summer and fall, Wyoming residents were invited to “Get Out There and GoWYLD” — and they did.

Public libraries offer a plethora of services that are free for the public to participate in, and because these entities are not preoccupied with making a profit, receiving adequate funding and support can be incredibly taxing for library officials. 

September is Library Card Sign-up Month, a time when Wyoming libraries join other libraries nationwide to remind everyone about the valuable resources available with a library card.

The Laramie County Library was selected by the American Library Association (ALA) and WETA Washington, DC, to receive a programming kit for “The Vietnam War,” a 10-part documentary film by Ken Burns and Lynn Novick that began airing on PBS stations on September 17.

SHERIDAN — Sheridan Stationery Books and Gifts is hosting an author event at the Sheridan County Fulmer Public Library featuring Linda F. Robertson and her memoir, “Bull S--- with Cream on It: A Leadership Memoir” Sept. 16, 2023. 

Tuesday is Wyoming Reads Day, when first-graders across the state each receive their own book and, in many cases, guest readers are invited to read to students in classrooms.

The Wyoming State Libraries Digital Suite Collections underwent a seven-month process to create an easier way to navigate through collections on Wyoming from federal documents to the places, inventors and business owners that make up Wyoming history.
